Now hiring associate director for the Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research has an outstanding opportunity for an associate director to join their team.
The associate director for the Office of Undergraduate Research will play a critical role in facilitating our advanced STEM undergraduate research scholarship programs and supporting early career research programming by overseeing our advising and outreach efforts. They will also play a key role in supporting the early career research initiative, the Undergraduate Research Collective, through course instruction and supporting other programmatic needs. A large portion of this position involves planning and facilitating the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium. Planning for the Symposium continues year-round, and the associate director manages the event workflow, delegates tasks across the team and is primarily responsible for ensuring the team is on track for a successful event. Finally, the associate director works closely with the director to build and sustain a welcoming, inclusive and collaborative team environment where Office of Undergraduate Research staff feel fully supported and encouraged to pursue their own professional development.

41 UW undergraduates awarded Gilman International Scholarship

The U.S. Department of State has recognized the University of Washington for producing 41 recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship during the spring 2025 cycle. UW sophomore awarded selective Udall Scholarship for commitment to environment and community

University of Washington undergrad Lorenzo Roel Flores McCleese, ‘27, was recently named a Udall Scholar. Lorenzo is pursuing bachelor’s degrees in environmental science and terrestrial resource management as well as informatics, with a focus on data science. He is also minoring in diversity.
